The Doctor Will Feed You Now

Wholesome Recipes and Stories from my Family Kitchen

This book is a love letter – to food, to family and to the community that raised us.

I grew up in a busy, working-class household where life was full of noise, laughter, plenty of drama and the rich aromas of Pakistani cooking wafting from the kitchen. My mum, Mama Khan, somehow managed to work full-time, raise seven children and still make a fresh homemade curry for us every night.

As a GP, I see the impact of food on health every day. It affects our hearts, our mood, our energy levels and even our sleep. But I also know that food isn’t just about nutrients. It’s about comfort, connection and culture. That is why this book is a fusion – between the rich traditional recipes handed down by Mama Khan, and my own healthy, evidence-based takes.

From Gut Health Rotis and Golden Glow Antioxidant Soup to Fish Tikka Kebabs and Garlic and Chilli Okra with Chickpea Masala, this is food to nourish body and soul.
