The Last Guest Dies Tonight

At 36, Saskia Laurie thought she’d be editing Oscar-winning films and doing interviews with The New Yorker. But ever since her sister Lily died, she’s been stuck in her career and in life.

She’s currently on location in Savannah, working on a documentary about TV personality Grace Beaumont, Savannah’s answer to Ina Garten. Grace is an icon of southern cooking, gardening and lifestyle thanks to her ability to communicate (and argue) with her dead mother, Patsy, from beyond the grave.

But cracks have begun to show in Grace’s media empire and Saskia, intrigued by some of the rumours she’s heard, starts to dig around for information. When the director, Adam, finds out, he fires her on the second day of the shoot. Infuriated, Saskia goes to the elegant garden on Grace’s sprawling estate . . . only to discover three dead bodies: Adam, plus two others.

In The Last Guest Dies Tonight, which features a kaleidoscope of characters, non-fiction will blur with fiction, a real ghost from Grace’s past will rise to the surface and lies will be revealed – particularly the lies we tell our loved ones.
