Film editor Saskia Laurie knows better than anyone how easily the lines between truth and fiction can be blurred.

Her latest commission – a Netflix documentary about Southern cookery icon Grace Beaumont, known for her ability to communicate with her dead Mama from beyond the grave – is a dream gig.

But as the cracks in Grace’s empire begin to show, Saskia receives a strange invitation to meet her alone and off the record. Hours later, Grace is found dead in her gothic Savannah mansion, exactly as she warned Saskia she would be. Beside her lies the body of the documentary’s director.
