When Jess – grieving the loss of her brother – returns to her crumbling family home, she is alarmed to discover a man writing by candlelight in the tower room.

Solomon Nash – the enigmatic brother of Hercules Nash, who had the mansion built in the 1840 – has been stuck in time for 172 years, unable to finish his novel. At first, Jess is simply determined to help set him free. But she doesn’t expect Solomon to unlock a part of her that no one else has.
