The Eye of the Heron

Many years ago, two spaceships left Earth for the planet Victoria. One ship held prisoners, the other political exiles.

In the 22nd century, the inhabitants of Victoria are still divided by these origins, into two camps: City and Shanty Town. But Shanty Town's inhabitants, the descendants of Earth's political exiles, call themselves the People of Peace, and want to build a new settlement in a valley far distant from the City. Young Luz grows up in this divided world, watching as the City leaders grow desperate to maintain their control.
