Discover Christmas gifts we know they'll love

Larry Finlay

Managing Director, Transworld

I’ve been Transworld’s Managing Director since 2001 and have been here for most of my working life - since 1983, when I joined as copywriter. At Transworld, we publish books that entertain, provoke and inspire - and sometimes even change people’s lives. I love my job, and am passionate about what we do. Every day, I consider myself incredibly lucky to work with such an amazing team of dedicated colleagues - and to publish so many of my own favourite writers.

A book that's left a deep impression on meA God in Ruins by Kate Atkinson. It not only changed the way I view fiction but the way I view my own life.

My literary hero: Jack Reacher – Lee Child’s larger-than-life hero is the righter of wrongs in a bad world. We should all be a little more Reacher.

A book I'd recommend to everyoneThe Book Thief by Markus Zusak. The only bad thing about it is that it comes to an end.
