  1. To take part in this promotion, entrants must pre-order either the paperback or e-book UK editions of It Takes A Village (Paperback 9780241709986 or e-book ISBN 9781405968812) from any UK retailers by 23:59 BST on Wednesday 10th September 2025.  
  2. This promotion is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over, with the exception of employees of the Promoter and their group companies, their families, agents and anyone else connected with this promotion.
  3. Entry via proof of pre-order must be received by 23:59 BST on Wednesday 10th September 2025. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted or fail to reach the Promoter by the relevant closing date for any reason. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Automatically generated entries or entries via agents or third parties are invalid and shall not be considered. Entries become the property of the Promoter and are not returned.
  4. Only one entry per person. No entrant may win more than one prize.
  5. To enter, fill in the form above with your name and email address. You will also need to provide proof of pre-order of It Takes A Village from any UK retailer (scan, photo or copy of email confirmation). When we get in touch with you, we will ask for proof of purchase - please do not share any bank details with your proof of pre-order.
  6. All valid and correctly completed entries received will receive the following:

The prize includes a £1000 Mr & Mrs Smith e-gift card, which is non-refundable and valid for hotel and villa bookings made within 24 months of receipt. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or credit. It is non-transferable.   8. All travelling dates and time are subject to availability.In the event that you cannot make these dates, no alternative dates will be possible and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to a substitute winner.
  9. The prizes are non-transferrable, and no cash alternative will be offered. The promoters’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right (a) to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value and (b) in exceptional circumstances to amend or foreclose the promotion without notice.   10. The winners will be notified by email within 28 days of the closing date (i.e. by 8th October 2025). The winner(s) must claim their prize within 30 days of the promoter sending notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these rules.
  11. By entering this competition, all entrants agree to the use of their personal data by the Promoter for the purposes of running the competition as detailed in these terms and conditions.   1. Entrants’ personal details will be destroyed on completion of this promotion.
  2. We will make the winner’s name and county available on request to the following email address sbibi2@penguinrandomhouse.co.uk. Please state the name of the competition in the subject heading 10 weeks after the closing date. If you do not want your name and county to be made available in the event that you win, please let us know by emailing sbibi2@penguinrandomhouse.co.uk. Please note we are required to make the winner’s details available to the ASA if requested.

The Promoter may disqualify any entrant whose entry does not comply with these terms and conditions (in Promoter’s sole opinion) or who, in Promoter’s sole determination, has acted in a manner that is fraudulent, dishonest or unjust to other entrants including, without limitation, tampering with the operation of the competition, manipulating or rigging votes, hacking, deceiving, cheating or by harassing or threatening other entrants or a representative of Promoter.
