Win a signed Ocean Vuong proof

We can hardly contain our excitement for Ocean Vuong's new novel, The Emperor of Gladness, which is publishing this May. Ocean visited us earlier this year to tell us all about it and signed five limited, edition numbered proofs, which we are now giving you the chance to win.

We can hardly contain our excitement for Ocean Vuong's new novel, The Emperor of Gladness, which is publishing this May.

The Emperor of Gladness tells the story of nineteen-year-old Hai, who is stopped from jumping from a bridge by Grazina, an elderly widow suffering from dementia. Over the course of the year, the two develop a life-altering bond and Hai also finds community in his workplace, the local diner. It evolves into a tender exploration of how love, labour and loneliness form the bedrock of American life, of what it means to exist on the fringes of society, reckoning with the wounds that haunt us, while finding the possibility of hope and second chances in the people we meet.

Ocean visited us earlier this year to tell us all about it and signed five limited, edition numbered proofs, which we are now giving you the chance to win.
