Join Booker Prize-winning author Anne Enright as she celebrates the publication of Actress, her first book since the acclaimed The Green Road.

An intensely moving, disturbing novel about mothers, daughters and the men in their lives, Actress is the story of Irish theatre legend Katherine O’Dell, telling of early stardom in Hollywood, of highs and lows on the stages of Dublin and London’s West End, and of a bizarre crime.

Anne Enright was born in Dublin, where she now lives and works. She has written two collections of stories, one book of non-fiction, and six novels, including The Gathering, which won the 2007 Man Booker Prize, The Forgotten Waltz, which was awarded the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction, and The Green Road, which was the Bord GáisEnergy Novel of the Year and won the Kerry Group Irish Fiction Award. In 2015 she was appointed as the first Laureate for Irish Fiction, and in 2018 she received the Irish PEN Award for Outstanding Contribution to Irish Literature.

Anne will be interviewed at this event by Kathy Sheridan of The Irish Times Women's Podcast, which has been nominated for a National Journalism Award and is sponsored by Green & Blacks.

You can buy a copy of Actress, RRP €16.99, for only €8.50 when booking your ticket. Anne will be signing copies after the event.

Don’t miss this chance to hear from one of Ireland’s greatest living writers.
