Join actor, director, and writer Tom Hanks, to celebrate the publication of his debut novel, The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece.

Live on stage for this UK-exclusive live event, Hanks will be in conversation with the incredible Richard E Grant to celebrate the publication of his debut novel, The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece: a wildly ambitious story of the making of a colossal, star-studded, multimillion-dollar superhero action film, and the humble comic book that inspired it all. Exploring why he wanted to capture the changes in America and American culture over the past 80 years, Hanks will share the inspiration behind his colourful cast of characters, including a troubled soldier returning from war, a young boy with an artistic gift, an inspired and eccentric director, a pompous film star on the rise, a tireless production assistant and countless film crew members that together create Hollywood magic.

Taking the audience behind the scenes and offering a glimpse into how a story becomes a finished film, Hanks will also touch on how he drew on his own career in Hollywood, during which he has starred in blockbuster hits as wide ranging as Forrest Gump, Big, Apollo 13, Sleepless in Seattle, Captain Phillips, Bridge of Spies, A Beautiful Day in the Neighbour Hood, Elvis and Toy Story.
