Primary teaching resources

We believe that diverse cultural perspectives can be powerful ways to excite the imagination of young readers and lead to greater empathy and understanding as their outlook on the world matures. However, texts by authors of colour are underrepresented in our education system, meaning students have limited, or no opportunities to engage with such texts.

In an effort to combat this, we have created the following resources for teachers and schools to introduce more texts by authors of colour into their classrooms. Some of these resources include videos of the author reading an extract from their book aloud and/or talking about the text, text extracts, and PowerPoints of interactive activities you can run with your class. Download them all for free below.
