President Bill Clinton and James Patterson collaborate on a novel

Following today’s announcement from Knopf and Little Brown, Susan Sandon, Cornerstone Managing Director at Penguin Random House UK is delighted to confirm the acquisition of UK and Commonwealth (exc. Canada) and exclusive European rights in The President Is Missing, a novel by President Bill Clinton and bestselling author James Patterson. The deal was struck with Robert Barnett of Williams & Connolly.

The President Is Missing will be published by Century in hardcover, ebook, and audiobook in June 2018, with a simultaneous release in North America.

The President Is Missing will offer readers a unique amalgam of intrigue, suspense and behind-the-scenes global drama from the highest corridors of power. It will be informed by details that only a President can know.

“Working on a book about a sitting President – drawing on what I know about the job, life in the White House, and the way Washington works—has been a lot of fun,” said President Clinton. “And working with Jim has been terrific. I’ve been a fan of his for a very long time.”

The publication will be the President’s first novel and the novelist’s first collaboration with a president.
