As Jasper escapes the confines of his faltering marriage and attempts to track down his father's killer, he soon discovers that with his new found freedom comes the threat of extreme danger. And Eddie finds that life in his brother’s shoes is something he may not be willing to give up. 
 
A dark thriller in two parts that reflect each other: The first tells Jasper's story. The second tells Eddie's.

Matthew Broughton's tale of a malfunctioning virtual world is engrossing

‘Planet B’ is a virtual world with the slogan: "Where you can be whatever you want to be." Users can download themselves into it and play as a life-size avatars in a 3D world. 
 
When Lioba Fielding dies in the real world, her boyfriend John Armstrong downloads himself into Planet B in an attempt to find her avatar. As he travels between various worlds he becomes entangled in an array of strange scenarios, teleporting from each adventure to the next with his companion Medley, a "rogue avatar" who has no human controller. All the while, John and Medley are being watched by a dog-like antivirus programme called Cerberus who, along with the Planet B Corporation, considers the rogues to be a computer virus that need to be wiped out. 
 
But John soon begins to believe that Lioba may still be alive somewhere in Planet B, and that the games he is playing may be more real and deadly than he first thought.

When Dr Anna Diaz moves from an urban practice in Cardiff to take on a new job in Bly, a remote village in rural Wales, she finds a community reeling from the unexpected death of their last GP and a startling number of curious rare medical conditions. Among them, a young woman who has become so hairy she looks like an ape, a farmer who is growing new bones, a teacher who hasn't slept for a month, and an old man who has gained enormous amounts of weight and has horns growing out of his head. Deeply unsettled, the locals feel something viral and horrendous is happening to them - they're anxious, confused, afraid, and need help.
