When a new state-of-the-art recycling plant opens in North-East London, pensioner Roger Turner is all for doing his bit. In return for donations of unwanted plastic, he and his friends get to see AN-X Recycling’s exhibition of life-size human and animal mannequins. The Doctor and Ace are also visiting the plant, but their unauthorized snooping doesn’t go down well with AN-X’s strangely impassive operations managers and their boiler-suited staff, keen to protect the secret that lurks at the heart of the factory floor. When Roger is attacked by a terrifying human exhibit, he finds himself joining forces with the strange Doctor and his friend. Soon they’re all fighting for their lives – and for the future of planet Earth. Terry Molloy, who played Davros and other characters in the BBC TV series, reads this tense thriller from Mike Tucker.

Aliens plot to resurrect an ancient evil in this gripping sci-fi adventure from the BBC Books Doctor Who fiction range

Mike Tucker is a visual effects designer, who, after 20 years at the BBC, now runs his own company - The Model Unit - out of Ealing Studios.  He has worked as an effects assistant on the original series of 'Dr Who' and has been the Miniature Effects Supervisor on the first two seasons of the new series, overseeing the team responsible for (amongst other things) the destruction of Big Ben, the Daleks (and their Emperor) and K-9.  His previous books for the BBC have mostly been written with long time colleague Robert Perry and have all revolved around the characters of the seventh Doctor and Ace.

On a lonely stretch of Welsh coastline a fisherman is killed by a hideous creature from beneath the waves. Mike Tucker is a visual effects designer, who, after 20 years at the BBC, now runs his own company - The Model Unit -  out of Ealing Studios.  He has worked as an effects assistant on the original series of 'Dr Who' and has been the Miniature Effects Supervisor on the first two seasons of the new series, overseeing the team responsible for (amongst other things) the destruction of Big Ben, the Daleks (and their Emperor) and K-9.
