The Unnamed Nanny

A beautifully written, funny, and moving glimpse into the terminally messed up lives of the billionaire class and their offspring. If ever you have found yourself envying the super rich, in their yachts and mansions, this book is the antidote. Best of all a gripping story is full of parenting and childcare perspectives from someone who really has seen it all.

This deeply shocking expose of the domestic lives of the super rich makes for a compulsive read. Enraging, horrifying and utterly gripping.

I could not put it down. The most compelling read of the year. Heartbreaking, shocking, super-interesting. Some of the super rich completely outsource the upbringing of their progeny only caring about how their children make them look. Sounds bad? It is bad. The book is good.

Maybe We Were Born Better hooked me from the very first page and unfolds like a terrifying horror story. Written with fierce precision and filled with disturbing details, this book is urgent and essential reading. The Unnamed Nanny's powerful message cannot and must not be ignored.

An Insider's Account of Raising the 1%

The perfect nanny is invisible. She is trusted with everything: the children, their routines, the family secrets. She is expected to notice everything and remember nothing.

For more than a decade, the Unnamed Nanny worked for some of the richest families in the world. She travelled on private jets, stayed on vast estates and luxury yachts, and helped raise children whose lives were planned years in advance. She saw separate apartments for young children; staff who were expected to disappear; parents who believed there was no problem that money couldn't solve.

She was paid to look after the children. She was expected to look away from everything else. Until she left.

The families remain anonymous. So must she.

Maybe We Were Born Better is an insider's account of a world most of us will never enter. It asks a simple question: what happens when people grow up believing that privilege is natural, wealth is virtue, and the rules are for everyone else?
