Too Big!

Neil's mum always buys things too big; first, it's his clothes, then it's a wardrobe...

A text in which no words are wasted: there is just the right amount of repetition and challenging vocabulary, and plenty of humour to keep the reader going right to the end. . . . Highly recommended

A very funny tale about a boy who is not listened to . . . The generously sized print is ideal for new readers and the simple but effective line drawings punctuate the story well

New readers will have fun with Too Big!

With a perfect balance of text and artwork, this is just the right sort of book for encouraging five- to eight-year-olds to develop as confident and independent readers

GERALDINE McCAUGHREAN is a highly acclaimed writer of children's books, whose talents have been recognised with the award of the most prestigious prizes in children's books - the Carnegie Medal, the Guardian Children's Fiction Award, the Whitbread Award and others. She lives in Berkshire.

Mum always liked to buy Neil clothes big enough for him to 'grow into'. And his new cricket jumper makes him look like a lamb in sheep's clothing! But Mum goes too far when she buys a new wardrobe and that, too, is far TOO BIG. It won't fit in the front door, it won't go through the downstairs windows. And, when Mum and Dad finally work out how to get it in the house, Neil - and his too-big cricket jumper - cause a very surprising outcome: one that Neil likes very much indeed!
