Sheehan Quirke graduated from Durham University with a law degree in 2018. In May 2022 he started The Cultural Tutor Twitter (now X) account with the aim of democratising elite knowledge and wisdom. Since then he has amassed over 1.5 million followers who include world famous personalities across the cultural and political spectrum, from Elon Musk to Jordan Peterson and JK Rowling to Trevor Noah. He also has a weekly newsletter, the Areopagus, which has nearly 80,000 subscribers and features seven short lessons on an historical figure, art, architecture, rhetoric, writing, and a relatable historical anecdote. He is completely self-taught – his credentials are simply his love and passion for curating and popularising culture.
