For the women of 1920s London, the city is full of opportunity – if they are bold enough to take it.

Dora, Ivy and Lou are firm friends, brought together by their shared ambitions and experiences as working-class women in a city that often overlooks them. But when they fall in with the charismatic Sadie, they are drawn into a web of deception and daring.

The four embark on a series of elaborate thefts in which they pose as high-class women to steal exquisite clothes. Seduced by rich velvet gowns, shimmering silks and frothy chiffons, they step into a new world of confidence, poise and possibility.

But ambition brings risk, and Sadie’s secret ties to London’s criminal underworld disturb the fragile balance of the group. As suspicion and pressure mount, and with their friendship under threat, the women agree to one final, audacious heist . . .
