My name is Albert and I’ve had the pleasure of working in publishing for over 25 years, in both the US and the UK. I’ve been at Ebury since 2007.
Ebury is the UK’s largest dedicated publisher of non-fiction, with 10 different imprints covering every genre of non-fiction. At BBC Books, which I lead as part of the Ebury Lifestyle team, I seek to publish great books with a BBC angle. We’re the UK’s leading publisher of media tie-ins, and the home of the best ideas and talent the BBC has to offer. I also founded the Witness Books imprint at Ebury in 2020, as a home for bold new voices in nature writing and conservation.
One of the best parts of my role is the opportunity to mentor other people in the industry, and I love hearing about their work and sharing my experiences with them. Mentoring also informs my approach as a manger: I encourage my team to ask questions and to think strategically, and I aim to create the space they need to do their best work.
I particularly enjoy hearing new perspectives on publishing, which is why I was drawn to the Next Editors programme. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
