To celebrate the release of Adventures in Fermentation, we’re giving you the chance to win a selection of prizes, from Apricity, The Crafty Pickle and Freshly Fermented.

To enter, simply pre-order a copy of Adventures in Fermentation and fill in the form below by 11:59pm, 11th June 2025.

  1. To take part in this promotion, entrants must pre-order either the hardback or e-book UK editions of Adventures In Fermentation (Hardback 9780241699133 or e-book ISBN 9781405966894) from any UK retailers by 23:59 BST on Wednesday 11th  June 2025.
  2. This promotion is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over, with the exception of employees of the Promoter and their group companies, their families, agents and anyone else connected with this promotion.
  3. Details of entrant must be entered by 23:59 BST on Wednesday 11th  June 2025. Winner will be asked for proof of pre-order when contacted. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted or fail to reach the Promoter by the relevant closing date for any reason. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Automatically generated entries or entries via agents or third parties are invalid and shall not be considered. Entries become the property of the Promoter and are not returned.
  4. Only one entry per person. No entrant may win more than one prize.
  5. To enter, pre-order of Adventures In Fermentation from any UK retailer and share your proof of order (scan, photo or copy of email confirmation) with your name and postal address when we contatc you. Please do not share any bank details with your proof of pre-order.
  6. All valid and correctly completed entries received by the closing date will be entered into a prize draw for the bwlow:
  7. 1 x main winner: will win a 5 course menu dining experience for 2, at Apricity Resturant (68 Duke St, London W1K 6JU), for either lunch or dinner reservations. Valid until 1st September 2025*
  • 1 x runner up winner: a 3 jar selection of fermented treats from The Crafty Pickle
  • 1 x runner up winner: will win a selection of fermented items from Freshly Fermented

*The winner and their companion will need to arrange and pay for their own travel to and from the venue (and accommodation if required). Penguin/the Promoter is not responsible for any travel and accommodation costs or subsistence expenses as part of this prize.

  • The prizes are non-transferrable, and no cash alternative will be offered. The promoters’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right (a) to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value and (b) in exceptional circumstances to amend or foreclose the promotion without notice. No correspondence will be entered into.
  • The winners will be notified by email within 28 days of the closing date (i.e. by 10th  July 2025). The winner(s) must claim their prize within 30 days of the promoter sending notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these rules.
  • By entering this competition, all entrants agree to the use of their personal data by the Promoter for the purposes of running the competition as detailed in these terms and conditions.   1. Entrants’ personal details will be destroyed on completion of this promotion.
  2. The Promoter may disqualify any entrant whose entry does not comply with these terms and conditions (in Promoter’s sole opinion) or who, in Promoter’s sole determination, has acted in a manner that is fraudulent, dishonest or unjust to other entrants including, without limitation, tampering with the operation of the competition, manipulating or rigging votes, hacking, deceiving, cheating or by harassing or threatening other entrants or a representative of Promoter.
  3. We will make the winner’s name and county available on request to the following email address PGBooksPublicity@penguinrandomhouse.co.uk (please state the name of the competition in the subject heading 10 weeks after the closing date).  If you do not want your name and county to be made available in the event that you win, please let us know by emailing PGBooksPublicity@penguinrandomhouse.co.uk. Please note we are required to make the winner’s details available to the ASA if requested.
