Iqbal Hussain, author of The Night I Borrowed Time

Lee Newbery lives with his son and dog in a seaside town in West Wales. By day he has a boring grown-up job, but by night he sits down at his laptop to write stories of adventure, magic and love.

His first book, The Last Firefox, won the Wales Book of the Year People's Choice Award and was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize.

Lee enjoys adventuring, drinking ridiculous amounts of tea, and giving his dog a good cuddle - or a cwtch, as they say in Wales.

Do you want to live forever?

In a world where vampires have – with their strength, speed and impossible good looks – become apex celebrities as well as apex predators, this is the question Kai Dimitri is forced to ask himself when he’s invited to take part in the reality TV show, Death Wish.

The prize for victory is a vampire bite, and immortality, but winning is only one possible outcome. The other is death – real death, not the glamorous vampire kind. Even so, if there’s the slightest chance that he can save his sick mother, Kai will take the odds – not to mention the fact that he might be falling in love with the irresistibly sexy Max, who is a vampire himself.

But with long-simmering tensions between humans and vampires rising to boiling point, the thirteenth season of Death Wish threatens to be the most shocking and deadly yet.

The stakes are high. Let the games begin.
