Children’s fantasy

Give children a gateway to worlds full of magic, mystery and more with fantasy books for all ages. Young readers will love meeting witches in A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle and series like The Worst Witch by Jill Murphy. For stories about children battling the odds and finding friends in spellbinding settings, direct readers to the Orphans of the Tide series, Tamzin Merchant’s The Mapmakers and Jamie Oliver’s Billy and the Giant Adventure, while older readers will love the dragons and drama of Christopher Paolini’s The Inheritance Cycle series. And of course no fantasy recommendations would be complete without Terry Pratchett; young readers can get into his writing with books including The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents, while teenage fantasy fans can dive into his Discworld series.
